The nearest city to Nesna that is approximately 60 km to the east. It has ca. 18 000 inhabitants, so in Poland has an average town. But Norway doesn't have that big population (5 mln people vs 38 mln) and Mo i Rana is the third biggest city in Northern Norway. Actually, the city is called just 'Mo' and i (in) Rana is added to not confuse it with other cities called Mo. We went there by bus, that took around 1,5 hour with one change. We haven't had any specific purpose, just to see new place and go to some bigger shops. Honestly, I was prepared to give shopping up for these four months, but if there was such an opportunity...
Yes, I have to admit that I'm a shopaholic. So when our colleagues went to supermarkets to buy some cheaper food than we have in Nesna, Agata and I got sucked into shopping - you know - sales, dresses, jewelery, accessories... We just couldn't resist it! To our excuse I can say that (wo)man cannot live by bread alone. ;)
Just ordinary sculpture, probably with no meaning...
...became a hipster!
The most recognizable thing in Mo i Rana - Havmannem (The man from the sea) - a granite stone sculpture in the fjord.
Come back!
I was surprised, that when we just left Nesna, temperature dropped below 0° and everything was covered by snow. Well, we live in a valley and quite close to the sea, so fortunately - it's warmer ;)
